1. Agreement to Terms

By inviting or using babyrite (the "Bot") on your Discord server, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (the "Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Bot.

2. Service Description

babyrite is a Discord Bot that provides the following features:

  • Message Link Expansion: Automatically generates embedded previews of Discord message links shared within the same guild
  • GitHub Permalink Expansion: Expands GitHub permalinks into syntax-highlighted code blocks

3. Acceptable Use

You agree to use the Bot only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You are prohibited from:

  • Using the Bot to violate any applicable laws or regulations
  • Using the Bot to harass, abuse, or harm others
  • Attempting unauthorized access to the Bot's systems or networks
  • Using the Bot in a manner that could damage, disable, or impair the Bot's functionality
  • Using the Bot to distribute spam or malicious content

4. Bot Permissions

The Bot requires the following permissions to function:

  • Read Messages/View Channels: To detect message links in your server
  • Send Messages: To post message previews and expanded content
  • Embed Links: To display rich embeds for message previews
  • Read Message History: To retrieve the content of linked messages

The Bot will only process messages in channels where it has been granted access.

5. Content and Privacy

5.1 Message Processing

  • The Bot processes message content only for the purpose of detecting and expanding Discord message links and GitHub permalinks
  • The Bot does not permanently store message content
  • The Bot does not collect, store, or transmit user data to third parties
  • Message content may be temporarily cached in memory for performance optimization (see Privacy Policy for details)

5.2 NSFW Content

  • The Bot will not expand previews of messages in NSFW channels
  • The Bot will not expand previews from private channels or private threads

7. Service Availability

7.1 No Warranties

The Bot is provided "as is" and "as available" without any warranties of any kind, including but not limited to:

  • Merchantability
  • Fitness for a particular purpose
  • Non-infringement
  • Uninterrupted or error-free operation

7.2 Service Modifications

We reserve the right to:

  • Modify, suspend, or discontinue the Bot at any time without notice
  • Change these Terms at any time by posting updated Terms
  • Restrict or terminate access to the Bot for violations of these Terms

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

  • We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
  • We are not liable for any loss of profits, revenue, data, or goodwill
  • Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid to use the Bot (which is zero for free users)

10. Intellectual Property

10.1 Bot Ownership

The Bot and all associated intellectual property rights are owned by the Bot developer (m1sk9) and licensed under the Apache License 2.0.

10.2 Open Source

The Bot's source code is publicly available at https://github.com/m1sk9/babyrite under the Apache License 2.0.

11. Termination

11.1 Termination by User

You may terminate your use of the Bot at any time by removing it from your Discord server.

11.2 Termination by Us

We may immediately terminate or suspend access to the Bot without prior notice or liability for any reason, including but not limited to:

  • Violation of these Terms
  • Abusive or harmful behavior
  • Technical or security concerns

12. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting of the updated Terms. Continued use of the Bot after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

13. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Japan, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

14. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.

15. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and us regarding the use of the Bot.
